Nokia has stayed relevant in the age of sexy iPhones, droids and other smart phones by making premium products of higher quality. Nokia has been making high end cellphones with for years. who else can boast a 12 megapixel phone? the uninformed perpetuate the brand perception that Nokia only makes the old brick phones they’re known for, but Nokia has been making the best cellphones money can buy for years. edit: photoset was pretty enjoyable though Nokia may make wonderful phones. But remember a decade or so ago when Nokia absolutely dominated two whole generations of GSM handsets - the glory days of the 5110 and the 3350? I like Nokias, my first smartphone when it was all I could afford was the 3110c, and for a $200 phone it served me very well. But it isn’t Nokias you see all over the place nowadays. And cheap variety stores don’t carry Nokia faceplates much any more, it’s all iPhone covers now. You can have the best phone around but if it’s not capturing people’s imagination on a mass scale it’s not hugely relevant in the market any more.
